About Me

Welcome! I'm Marteen Motun Mubaraq, a Software Engineer, Tech Entrepreneur, and Gym Enthusiast with a deep passion for building, mentoring, and transforming ideas into reality.

My path into technology was fueled by an early curiosity about how digital systems work. Though the journey to clarity involved navigating various paths, that initial spark evolved into an unstoppable drive to create, innovate, and solve real-world problems using technology.

I specialize in backend development, crafting powerful, scalable systems using FastAPI, Node.js, Python, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. On the frontend, I leverage React, Next.js, TailwindCSS, and TypeScript to build seamless user experiences.

Furthermore, I have a strong command of developing engaging Telegram bots and feature-rich Telegram Mini WebApps, extending functionality and user interaction within the Telegram ecosystem.

I'm also exploring emerging technologies like AI, Machine Learning, and Blockchain, constantly learning and experimenting with these cutting-edge tools to stay ahead of the curve and integrate intelligent solutions into my projects.

My Journey: From Confusion to Clarity

My path into tech was not straightforward. It was a winding road of discovery, challenges, and ultimately, purpose. This is the story that fuels my passion to help others find their way.

Back in 2012, I was just a young guy in Lagos trying to find my place in a world that gave me no blueprint. I was at KarROX, fiddling with Cisco. Then Gateway ICT Resource Center came, and I dabbled into IT essentials. But deep inside? None of it felt like home. I didn’t have the vocabulary then, but I knew: I wanted to build. I wanted to create. I wanted to write the kind of code that breathed life into machines. I just didn’t know it was called “software engineering.”

There were no YouTube tutorials, no freeCodeCamp, no GitHub stars to chase. Tech in Nigeria wasn’t booming; it was barely whispering. And me? I had no mentor, no roadmap, no laptop of my own. Just raw instinct and curiosity sitting inside a boy from a humble home, looking for light in a system designed to keep things dark.

I didn’t get it right for a long time. I stumbled, hard. Jumped from one path to another. Hoped maybe this was it… then it wasn’t. I spent nine years chasing clarity in all the wrong classrooms. I tried data science. I tried IT. I even explored areas I knew had nothing to do with the fire burning in my chest, all because I was grasping for something I couldn’t name.

Dreams Ahead of Their Time

Yet, even in my confusion, my dreams were ahead of their time. I imagined forex automation tools before the trend caught on. I dreamt of “ChopBeta,” an agriculture-tech idea, long before agri-startups became cool. I wanted to build ecommerce platforms before Jumia or Konga became household names. I thought of payment systems like OPay, long before the first OPay agent opened shop. But all I had were dreams and no compass.

2021 changed everything. It was in a data science class that I accidentally found the door I’d been searching for all along: software engineering. That “aha” moment hit me like lightning. And from that point, I started running, fast. Not to recover the lost time, but to convert it into something useful.

Today, I’m still building. I’m still learning. I’m still growing. But now, I build with purpose. That’s why I created the Career Quiz section on my website: My Career Quiz. It’s not just a tool; it’s a lifeline. I built it for every confused soul, every curious student, every tech newbie who doesn’t know where to start.

You answer a few questions (simple, honest ones) and it matches you with the tech career path that fits your thinking, your interests, your personality. No fluff. Just clarity. It also gives you curated links — free and paid — so you don’t have to wander the internet for months trying to “figure it out” like I did.

"If I can help one person shave nine years off their confusion, then my journey wasn’t wasted. It was planted, and now it’s blooming."

This is more than tech for me. This is redemption. I’m not at the finish line yet. But trust me, I’m no longer lost. I’m building forward, and this time, I’m bringing others with me.
